Spent the day at Six Flags over Georgia with these wonderful
kids:
Michelle was there too… but I always gotta clear any photos
of her before I post them anywhere!
It was a good relaxing day after the last two riding
days. It’s the simple days like hanging
out with your family at Six Flags that makes you appreciate the simple times of
just spending time together.
Not that Six Flags is by any means a “simple” day! But it was nice to just hang out and enjoy
the heat and humidity of the South… until the torrential downpour happened!
Yeah, we were just going in to Hurricane Harbor when the
wind picked up and started blowing umbrellas around. We decided it was probably time to go (as
Caleb had stated about 20 min prior), and as we walked toward the exit the sky
opened up on us.
It was funny to me that the very people who were waiting in
lines for log rides, or a waterpark were now huddled under any available cover
to avoid getting wet from the rain.
My family was awesome as always, just walked through the
driving rain to our car and headed back to Alabama.
One thing that I found today is how silence affects
different people. We were in the car and
for the first mile or so there was no radio and everyone was just quiet. Sarah commented on how quiet it was and that
prompted Michelle to turn the radio on.
Nothing major at all… I started thinking about how much “interference”
is in our lives. I often wonder how that
affects our ability to effectively communicate.
I am absolutely guilty as anyone in this realm.
Whether this interference is the TV, radio, or a Smartphone,
we all seem so eager to be distracted by something, then wonder why our
relationships fall apart due to “lack of communication.”
